I fucking hate everyone

What’s the worst possible thing you can call a woman? Don’t hold back, now.

You’re probably thinking of words like slut, whore, bitch, cunt (I told you not to hold back!), skank.

Okay, now, what are the worst things you can call a guy? Fag, girl, bitch, pussy. I’ve even heard the term “mangina.”

Notice anything? The worst thing you can call a girl is a girl. The worst thing you can call a guy is a girl. Being a woman is the ultimate insult. Now tell me that’s not royally fucked up. Recognizing the screwed nature of this little exercise doesn’t necessarily make you feminist. But it should. Most young women know that something is off. And even if we know that some things are sexist, we’re certainly not ready to say we’re feminists. It’s high time we get past the “I’m not a feminist but …” stuff. You know what I’m talking about: “I’m not a feminist or anything, but it is total bullshit that Wal-Mart won’t fill my birth control prescription.”

Do you think it’s fair that a guy will make more money doing the same job as you? Does it piss you off and scare you when you find out about your friends getting raped? Do you ever feel like shit about your body? Do you ever feel like something is wrong with you because you don’t fit into this bizarre ideal of what girls are supposed to be like?
Well, my friend, I hate to break it to you, but you’re a hardcore feminist.”

Why does everyone have the wrong definition of feminism?

It seems everybody is going by the mere stereotypes. Feminism isn’t about being anti-men in any way, shape, or form. I understand a lot of “feminists” make it seem that way, so I don’t blame anyone, especially men, who feel offended by it, but shouldn’t they read up on the issue themselves rather than going by the mainstream?

Yes, a female feminist wouldn’t want to be expected to do all the housework or to follow society’s beauty standards, for example, but a true female feminist also wouldn’t be bothered by paying for dinner while on a date, or buying the man a drink at the bar instead of the other way around.

I feel that if more people knew that feminism isn’t solely about women gaining privileges, but men as well, they would be more open to the idea. Yes, feminism tends to focus more on women’s rights, but that’s because women have been the ones to be more oppressed over the course of history, and even today in certain parts of the world, and in our own society.

I can see how men can feel threatened and offended by it, so again, I don’t blame the ones against it, but I still think they should educate themselves fully on the issue before calling themselves anti-feminists. Feminism fights for and brings positive things to both genders, not just women, that’s why it’s about EQUALITY. I don’t think any decent man (or even women, since we DO have some anti-feminist women) would be against equality, unless he’s/she’s not educated enough on the subject.

Just a thought.

I’m feeling guilty doing this, but I guess that fades with time. It just makes me feel so in control, pretty, and progressive. I need that right now.
